SediLogic Liquid
A liquid concentrate for systems that take a metered or poured dose rather than a solid one. It does the same job — digesting organic material — in a format that suits a dosing pump, a flowing channel or a confined structure, where a puck or a pouch would not work.
01Why this format
Organic load in systems a solid cannot be dosed into
Format follows the duty. A dense solid is the only thing that puts organisms down onto a settled benthic blanket, so for an accumulated sludge blanket a solid is what we specify. A liquid disperses through the volume it is dosed into, which is the wrong behaviour for a blanket and the right one for organic load carried in the water — and it is the only format some installations can physically take at all. Where that is the duty in front of us, this is the product for it, built to the same specification as the dry range and benchmarked the same way.
It works in the metered or poured, as the installation allows, and it suits dosing points and flowing systems that take a metered liquid.

03When not to buy this
When this product is the wrong answer.
- Your target is the bottom blanket and a solid can be dosed. A sinking solid carries organisms down onto the material; that is the duty the dry range is built for, and it is what we will quote for it.
- The target is an accumulated benthic sludge blanket. A liquid introduced at the surface disperses through the water column instead of concentrating where the blanket sits, which is the whole reason the sinking solid exists.
- You are buying it to satisfy an ammonia or total nitrogen permit. Nitrification requires viable nitrifying organisms, and whether this blend carries them is a question for the manufacturer's written specification — it is not established here, and we will not imply it.

04Microbiology
What the organisms actually do to the material.
The mechanism is enzymatic hydrolysis. Bacillus species secrete enzymes into their surroundings that break large organic molecules into fragments small enough to be taken up and metabolised. The organisms are not consuming sludge directly; they are releasing the tools that take it apart.

Why Bacillus, and why a dry format costs nothing
Bacillus is the single most important bacterial source of exactly these enzymes, proteases in particular. It also forms endospores — a dormant state that survives drying, heat and time essentially intact, then germinates on contact with water and food. For this job the organisms that do the work are precisely the ones that dry best, which is why the two lead formats are dry and why that costs nothing biologically. Nitrifying organisms are the opposite case: they do not survive drying at all, which is why no dry product can address an ammonia permit.
What the published work supports
Mixtures of protease, cellulase and lipase reduce total suspended solids by 30 to 50 per cent and improve settling, with protease and cellulase together outperforming either alone. One controlled study reported 33 per cent volatile suspended solids reduction.
These figures are the mechanism, not a claim about this product: the peer-reviewed enzyme and hydrolysis work they rest on is collected in the scientific literature.
