01The plant

What was being treated

Leachate treatment at a rural landfill near Chengdu, China, using the equipment already on the site.

02Before

How the material got there

The leachate was arriving with ammonia as high as 850 mg/L. At that concentration it suppresses the leachate's own biological treatability, which makes the wastewater hard to stabilise for anything downstream. Conventional treatment was not bringing it down fast enough to matter.

03Treatment

What was applied, and how

A blend pairing ammonia-utilising strains with denitrifiers, applied directly to the leachate with aeration to support the biology. The organisms worked in the leachate as it stood, rather than it being diluted first or hauled away.

Every result in this library was measured at an operating plant treating with one of the formulations SediLogic supplies, over the window stated above. It is a field result published as reported, not a controlled trial we ran.

04Method

How the result was established

Ammonia tracked hour by hour across three replicate rounds. The replication is what makes this stronger than a single run, and it is uncommon in this category.

05Outcome

What followed

About a day, against the days or weeks the conventional route was taking.

At the start

Ammonia at 850 mg/L.

At the close

60 mg/L at ten hours and 4 mg/L at twenty-six, held consistently across all three rounds.

06Limits

What this record does not establish.

Three replicate rounds is the strongest thing here and it is still not an untreated control — nothing was left to run without the blend, so how much of the fall would have happened anyway is not established. No leachate temperature, pH or organic carbon figure is published, and a heterotrophic route to ammonia depends on the carbon available to it. This is a set of replicate batch runs on real material rather than a treatment plant's continuous operating record, and it should be read at that scale.

Only the volatile organic fraction of a sludge responds to any of this. Grit, sand, silt, mineral precipitates and plastics remain at any dose, here and everywhere else.

Nitrifying organisms do not survive drying. No product in SediLogic's dry range addresses an ammonia or total-nitrogen permit, and this record is published as part of the field record rather than as an offer.

What we would supply

For this duty, in our range.

SediLogic Liquid is the article in the range that reaches this — a concentrate for systems a solid cannot be dosed into, which covers most of what sits upstream of an industrial outfall. Where the target is instead an accumulated blanket in a holding basin, the sinking solids are the right format and the lagoon products apply.

SediLogic holds a written dose table for wastewater lagoons and for no other duty. Industrial loads are also the least alike of anything on this site — a rate set for one plant's effluent means very little at the next — so a quantity here is settled with a person, against your own stream.

This was measured somewhere else.

A different plant, a different loading and a different sludge. What decides your result is how much of your own accumulation is organic and treatable, and whether the dose is sized against the lagoon in front of us rather than read off this page. Tell us the dimensions and we will size it.
