An anaerobic hog manure lagoon at a Nebraskan swine operation.

How the material got there

The lagoon's contents are land-applied as fertiliser, so the question was not clarity but what the solids were carrying. The study was funded by a grant to a county groundwater education group and ran for twelve weeks.

Dosed monthly across twelve weeks, at a quantity set per animal.

Every result in this library was measured at an operating plant treating with one of the formulations SediLogic supplies, over the window stated above. It is a field result published as reported, not a controlled trial we ran.

Per head of livestock rather than per unit of volume — the loading on a manure lagoon is set by the herd, not by the lagoon's dimensions.

Dry solids in the manure recorded through the twelve weeks, with a nutrient panel at the close.

What followed

The group's conclusion was that the treated manure made a better fertiliser because the nutrients were bound organically and more available to a crop.

07Limits

What this record does not establish.

The mineral reductions are the part to read carefully. Bioaugmentation does not remove calcium, zinc, magnesium or iron — those elements do not biodegrade — so what changed is how they are bound and distributed in the material sampled, not how much of them the lagoon contains. Nothing was left untreated, no laboratory is named, and this is an agricultural duty SediLogic does not sell into.

Only the volatile organic fraction of a sludge responds to any of this. Grit, sand, silt, mineral precipitates and plastics remain at any dose, here and everywhere else.
