Liquid concentrate, FOG-targeted

SediLogic Liquid FOG

A concentrate that pairs a Bacillus blend with amylase, protease and lipase enzymes, aimed at fats, oils and grease and the starch and protein that travel with them. Its place is the collection system — grease traps, drains and lift stations — where FOG is the material that gathers, rather than the lagoon itself.

01Why this format

Fats, oils and grease, and the collection systems where they gather

This is the one member of the range aimed upstream of the pond. FOG collects and consolidates where wastewater is gathered and pumped, well before it reaches a lagoon, and an enzyme-boosted liquid is the format that suits a trap or a wet well. It is listed for completeness of the liquid line, not as a lagoon treatment: whether it fits a site is a collection-system question, and it is neither part of the launch range nor mapped to a duty SediLogic sizes today. We would rather say that than present it as something it is not.

It works in the dosed into the collection system — trap, drain or wet well, and it suits a grease-dominated load upstream of the lagoon, not the lagoon blanket.

02Specifications

What is confirmed, and what is not.

Every figure below comes from a manufacturer document or an exact-SKU private-label source. Where the supplied documents publish no value, the table says so. Nothing is estimated to fill a gap — a placeholder specification that later moves is worse than an admitted blank, because a buyer may have planned around it.

03When not to buy this

Three situations where this product is the wrong answer.

  • The problem is an accumulated lagoon sludge blanket. This blend is aimed at fats, oils and grease in the collection system upstream; a lagoon blanket is the sinking solid's job.
  • There is no significant fats, oils and grease in the load. The enzyme boost earns its place only where FOG dominates; for general organic load the base liquid is the fit.
  • A solid form can be dosed where the material actually sits. As with every liquid here, a solid is the better use of the money wherever the installation allows one.

The dosing planner screens for all three and will say so rather than routing you to a quotation.

04Microbiology

What the organisms actually do to the material.

The mechanism is enzymatic hydrolysis. Bacillus species secrete enzymes into their surroundings that break large organic molecules into fragments small enough to be taken up and metabolised. The organisms are not consuming sludge directly; they are releasing the tools that take it apart.

Enzyme classes produced by Bacillus and the material each acts on
EnzymeActs onWhat that is, in a lagoon
ProteaseProteins and peptidesThe protein fraction of settled influent solids and of dead biomass.
LipaseFats, oils and greasesFOG, which floats and consolidates rather than settling out on its own.
AmylaseStarches and complex carbohydratesCarbohydrate load, typically heaviest on food-processing influent.
CellulaseCellulosePlant fibre and paper, which is a large share of a municipal blanket.

Why Bacillus, and why a dry format costs nothing

Bacillus is the single most important bacterial source of exactly these enzymes, proteases in particular. It also forms endospores — a dormant state that survives drying, heat and time essentially intact, then germinates on contact with water and food. For this job the organisms that do the work are precisely the ones that dry best, which is why the two lead formats are dry and why that costs nothing biologically. Nitrifying organisms are the opposite case: they do not survive drying at all, which is why no dry product can address an ammonia permit.

What the published work supports

Mixtures of protease, cellulase and lipase reduce total suspended solids by 30 to 50 per cent and improve settling, with protease and cellulase together outperforming either alone. One controlled study reported 33 per cent volatile suspended solids reduction.

Peer-reviewedControlled studyEnzyme mechanism. Field efficacy figures in this category are vendor-published, including ours.

These figures are the mechanism, not a claim about this product: the peer-reviewed enzyme and hydrolysis work they rest on is collected in the scientific literature.
